preparation station

A Preparation Station is essential to achieve maximum production time from your Direct Laser systems. The Adflex Direct operating system, mirroring the engraver control is installed on a separate PC.

Optional Adflex Direct utilities such as TIFFArrange can also be provided. Additionally clients can install their own image manipulation programs (eg Adobe Photoshop) or spreadsheets etc. for production control. Upgraded versions for running RIP's are also available.

The Preparation Station PC is linked by high-speed network to the engraving stations. For safety this is usually configured as 'pull only' connection at the engravers. Data can't be sent whilst the system is engraving.

Comprehensive preview and checking facilities are provided including a dot-4-dot inspection of the laser output.

Images are fully prepared and jobs set up with appropriate links to all neccessary images.
Jobs for multiple Adflex Direct systems over several shifts (for a range of operators and skills) can be prepared.

A simple and fast 'transfer' button at each engraver makes all jobs, settings and image files available for output. The image files remain on the Preparation Station (or chosen image file server), only a temporary copy is made on the Adflex Direct while it is being engraved. This avoids the dangers of uncontrolled file replication and engraving over a network.

After a plate or sleeve is loaded into the Adflex Direct system, a 'transfer' is normally completed and the job ready to run within a few seconds.
